Responding to calls from the Scottish Parliament's Local Government and Communities committee for more to be done to provide homeless people with permanent accommodation, Scottish Liberal Democrat housing spokesperson Caron Lindsay said:

"Nobody should be without a place to call home.

"That's why Scottish Liberal Democrats will continue to press SNP ministers to increase the number of homes for social rent, and seek to overturn callous Conservative social security measures which are so callously causing this growing epidemic."

"It's also why Scottish Liberal Democrats have called for expanded efforts to bring empty properties back into use to help alleviate the suffering caused by homelessness."
