Responding to new research by Ipsos Mori which has found that 9,830 EU nationals who work in social care and childcare in Scotland face an uncertain future because of Brexit, Scottish Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:

"Brexit jeopardises the futures of 10,000 of our precious care staff, just as it threatens our economy, the NHS, universities and businesses.

"We should be incredibly grateful to all the staff who work day in day out to keep our care sector going in the midst of a very difficult financial climate. We rely on their skills and their hard work.

"All the evidence shows Brexit is going badly. That's why we need the public to have the final say on whether Theresa May's end deal is good enough."
