Scott says Scottish Conservatives are “defending the indefensible” as Parliament rejects PM’s deal

Speaking after the Scottish Parliament voted for a cross-party motion, rejecting the Prime Minister's Brexit deal and ruling out a no-deal Brexit, Scottish Liberal Democrat Europe spokesperson Tavish Scott MSP said:

"The Scottish Tories are the last people defending Theresa May's deal. Few Tory MP's in London do.

"So why can't the Scottish Tories recognise the failings of this deal. Failings which make us all worse off. Failings that mean we will be subject to Brussels rules but have no say over them. Failings that mean the Northern Ireland border will never be solved. How is this a good deal for Scotland and the UK?

"Few people anywhere in Scotland will understand why the Scottish Tories are the last defenders of the indefensible."
