Let's build our Alloa to Dunfermline railway without further delay

Sign our petition to call for a passenger rail line to be established between Alloa and Dunfermline, with a stop at Clackmannan.

Covid-19 is likely to have a devastating impact on our Scottish economy and jobs. Therefore it is essential that our Clacks Council and the Scottish Governments start to work collectively, having a real focus on prioritising schemes that can make a real difference to peoples lives. It is urgent that a commitment is made and work undertaken without further dither and delay to establishing passenger services on the rail line between Alloa to Dunfermline, enabling services onwards to Edinburgh.

Alloa Railway Station (Mortons Media Group Ltd. Material https://www.railwaymagazine.co.uk/egip-wires-advance-towards-alloa/)The Scottish Liberal Democrats support modernising our Scottish railway network to meet the needs of our local communities. Expanding our rail network is of huge social and economic benefit to Scotland, particularly for those who live in rural areas that have been cut off from public transport for too long. It was Scottish Liberal Democrats who set the reopening of the Borders railway in motion.

Increasing public transport connectivity for local Clacks residents, is one of the Clackmannanshire Liberal Democrats top priorities, as this will help people access jobs and climb out of poverty.
