We demand better transport links for Clackmannanshire

The Scottish Liberal Democrats continue to support radical plans to modernise our Scottish railway network to meet the needs of our local communities. We call on the Scottish Government to conduct a formal review of a number of closed lines and calling for new stations to be opened on existing lines. This includes establishing passenger services on the line between Alloa to Edinburgh via Dunfermline.

John Biggam, the Scottish Liberal Democr Alloa Railway Station (Mortons Media Group Ltd. Material https://www.railwaymagazine.co.uk/egip-wires-advance-towards-alloa/)ats candidate for the Clackmannanshire Central ward said:

"Expanding our rail network is of huge social and environment benefit to Scotland, particularly for those who live in rural areas that have been cut off from public transport for too long. It was Scottish Liberal Democrats who set the reopening of the Borders railway in motion. We demand better, to enable much more of Scotland to access the rail network. Of personal importance to me, the increasing of connectivity for residents in Clackmannanshire is one of my top priorities, as this will help people access jobs and climb out of poverty."
